City Council Candidate, Margaret Rog (RogForSLP.org) stood at Earth Day Visioning pronouncing a VISIONING goal to Feed Our Hungry Children!

SLP SEEDS has as its highest purpose to eliminate hunger in SLP through action-oriented goals that plant audacious ideas and harvest outcomes which support the Vision.

Health in the Park Better Eating Champion, Sharon Lehrman, co-chairs the UMN's Cooking Matters SLP Team of culinary experts, nutritionists and class assistants that have already graduated the first class in St. Louis Park with more to come!

 

Inspired by national efforts such as www.NoKidHungry.org and the www.MNFoodCharter.com Network, (see article on SLP SEEDS by Executive Director, Michael Dahl,) 

 

SLP SEEDS continuously works to:

  • teach Food Skills from garden to table and back again, 

  • inspire neighborhoods, schools and organizations to sustainably grow food and

    • donate fresh food to STEP Food Shelf and recipients of the BirdFeeder's Pack-the-Backpack during the school year

  • support out-of-school meal service

    • bring healthy food to hungry children and vulnerable adults

  • mobilize residents. students and workers of all ages and backgrounds to ensure all voices are heard in visioning, strategies and applications

  • encourage youth and elders to practice and promote sustainable actions at home, school, places of faith, clubs, business and other organizations.
